www.p21.org P 21 is an organization that advocates for 21st century readiness for every student. It was founded in 2002. They presented a framework for the 21st century learning: . Developing life and career skills; . Learning and innovation skills - 4C's; . Information, media and technology skills; . Core subjects: 3R's and 21st century skills. The integration of these skills will result in: . Standards and assessments; . Curriculum and instruction; . Professional development; . Learning environments. They want to develop the 3 R's (Reading, wRiting and aRithmetic) and the 4 C's (Critical thinking, Communication, Collaboration and Creativity). P 21 provides tools and resources to help the US education system keep up by fusing the three R's and four C's. Members: business, education and government leaders. Mission: Is to serve as a catalyst to position 21st century readiness at the center of US K-12 education by building collaborative partnerships among education, business, community and government leaders. According to P 21, students need to be ready for today's and tomorrow's world and for that, they need 21st century skills.
